about me:
I am a philosopher and historian specializing in early modern natural philosophy and mathematics, as well as the history and philosophy of time and the infinite.
Although (in fact, because) I retired in 2018, these days I am more active than ever in my writing and research collaborations. Based in Toronto, I am co-writing books with colleagues in Paris, Milan (and now Haifa), and here in Ontario, with a fourth volume of translations shortly to go to press. I am supervising a PhD student, Jeffrey Elawani, (about to depart for Paris to complete his doctorate there), and a postdoc from Venice here on a Marie Curie Fellowship, Filippo Costantini, who has just returned to Venice to complete his Fellowship there.
